Lily is a beautiful female Lovebird that came to our rescue after being brought to a vet. She was brought in to a vet in the Chicagoland area by someone claiming to have found her. A vet tech took her home to care for her and find her a new home. She was checked out by a vet and some blood work was done and she is now ready to find her forever home. She is NOT tame or handable, and she most likely never will be, she is fearful of people getting their hands near her, but likes people in the room with her. The vet tech had a conure and Lily wanted to cuddle with him, but the conure was not interested. Lily definitely is the type of bird who wants a friend to hang with. We are seeking a home with another female lovebird or a similiar sized bird that would also like a new buddy to hang out with on a playgym, not caged together unless they bond after some time. We do not know how old Lily is and the vet didn't want to guess, we are saying adult. Lily is a curious bird and likes toys. In her former temporary home she was allowed a fair amount of time out of the cage, and she enjoyed that. Lily's adoption fee is $40 and she does not come with a cage. All potential adopters MUST live within 30 miles of Aurora IL. An application is required before meeting any of the birds in our rescue and a home visit is required prior to adoption.
