My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dori is brand spanking new to DREAM. She comes to us from a very loving family and has always been treated like a princess. Dori is ~9 years old, weighs ~14 lbs, and is all black. She's also got the biggest paddle paws you've ever seen with LOTS of wrinkles too. Oh, they are simply edible. Some of her favs include: a good squeaky toy, afternoon walks, car rides, a warm lap, and lots of snuggle time. She's good with other dogs, but prefers people the best. Dori is extremely eager to please. Don't let her age fool you. She does NOT consider herself a senior citizen. Dori says "Age charts - schmage charts. HAH!!!" This girl is super young both in spirit and in looks.

If you are interested in adopting Dori, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform2.shtml . Dori 's adoption fee is $375. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Dori will go to her new home microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
