This pretty girl is Maddie, who was found as a stray in in Manhattan. Her finder told the shelter staff that she brought Maddie into her house for a few days in the hopes that she would find her family, but even though she hung posters and reached out to neighbors, no one claimed her. The finder had a three-year old son who Maddie adored, but sadly, no pets were allowed in their apartment, so they couldn’t keep her.
Maddie is very loving, gentle and snuggly. She is two years old, so she still has puppy energy to burn, but she has no problem relaxing after a long walk or playing in the yard with the other dogs in her foster home. She loves other dogs, and in her foster home she frolics and plays with two smaller dogs and one bigger dog and gets along with them all. She runs like a goofy deer, sometimes in leaps and bounds and sometimes tripping over her own feet. She knows how to sit, and she is very smart, so teaching her new commands or tricks will be easy.
Maddie is such a happy girl! She loves playing with all kinds of toys and chewing on bones. She is not a picky eater, and although she is about 50 pounds now, she is all muscle and when she fills out she will be even more beautiful. Maddie sleeps with foster mom under the covers to keep herself (and her foster mom) warm. She loves to snuggle, and if you let her she will lick your entire face. She has stunning hazel eyes, and the speckles on her ears enhance the “Petey” patch on her left eye. She is gorgeous!
Maddie is about two years old, and we think she is a Pitbull/American Bulldog mix. She would love a home with another dog but would also be fine without a canine sibling. She loves kids and adults alike and would be an excellent family dog. She is very playful, but not hyper (she enjoys her down time as much as playing). She is housebroken, spayed, up to date on all her shots, microchipped, heartworm negative, and crate trained. She has two old scars on her back which you can see in some of her pictures, and they have healed nicely but her fur may never grow back in those areas. She is one of the best and most loving dogs her foster family has ever met!
