Blueberry is VERY sweet goofball whose favorite activities are cuddling and playing with his person and doggy (foster) siblings. He’s currently being fostered by a professional trainer (Since August 19, 2018) He’s ready to move on to his forever home with a family of his own. Here’s what she has to say about him: Blueberry (aka Batman, Goggles, Heifer Hound, Speckle Ear, Speckle, Blueb, Bluebers) is an extremely affectionate and loving boy. He’s a total goof who is content spending time with his family at home or out and about. He LOVES playing with small and medium dogs; he's good with large dogs as well, but not as comfortable and relaxed as he is with dogs smaller than he is. He is a very good boy and tries his best to make good choices. Blueberry is looking for his ideal pet home where he can relax and play it safe; he is most definitely not a risk taker, and he would prefer and confident person who has things handled so he doesn’t have to worry about it. While he is looking for a pet home I'm sure he would really enjoy training for dog sports with his person; he's big and strong and athletic and really enjoys athletic activity. He’s just started (December 2018) dabbling in foundation training for agility and possibly some trailing or scent work. He’s also discovered the joys of nylabones (he wasn’t really into toys when he first got here, but as he’s exploring and discovering new things the longer he’s with me.) He does have a high prey drive; ie rabbits, squirrels, etc. He may enjoy lure coursing/ Fast CAT and/or Barn Hunt (I just haven’t had the chance to try him out with it yet.)Though he's also perfectly content to stay home and cuddle. He grew up with multiple small (under 10 lb) dogs, cats, and birds and lived on a farm with a variety of animals and hasn't had any problems with them, though he was much too interested in the rabbits. Blueberry does have storm anxiety and will get out of normal crates when it's storming (he is fine in my impact type crate, he would probably do fine in a good wire crate with plexiglass or PVC panels to reinforce it) he's not destructive when he's out, he just curls up and waits for the storm to pass; clearly, he's very wise. Blueberry is house trained, and good in his crate (unless it’s storming or there are fireworks though he’s much much better than he used to be), he knows basic obedience: loose leash walking, sit, down, wait, getting in and out of the car, getting into his kennel, come – he’s good about the recall, but I haven’t finished proofing it around really heavy distraction. He is a very sweet boy who consistently tries his best for you. He’s not very brave (though he’s getting more and more confident the longer he’s with me) but he will make up for it in endless lapdog cuddles and making you laugh at his goofy antics. He sleeps in bed with me and my two dogs (he’s the first foster dog ever (in the 10+ years I’ve been fostering) to earn that privilege.) He is just generally a sweet, well behaved dog, who is easy to be around and enjoy spending time with. If you think your home would be a good fit for Blueberry please
