My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Darla is a purebred red Dachshund who was found running as a stray. She was brought to a local shelter but no owner was found. Darla weighs 13 pounds and is about 2 to 3 years old. She is a very sweet, calm dog who loves people. She follows her foster mom from room to room and likes to give kisses. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home but would prefer to be the only dog and get all the attention. Darla is house trained and is learning that the crate is a good place. She will make a great companion for someone. Please note that we do not recommend Darla to families with children under 5.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
