My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Streaker, an enchanting 8-year-old cat with stunning long white fur that flows like a cascading waterfall. This majestic feline exudes elegance and grace with every step, capturing the hearts of all who lay eyes on her. Streaker is a creature of independence, self-reliant and confident in her own fur.

Despite her aloof demeanor, Streaker harbors a secret love for pets, but only on her terms. She enjoys gentle strokes and soothing pats when she's in the mood, relishing the attention in her own unique way. This beautiful cat is not one to seek constant companionship but appreciates moments of connection with her human friends.

One notable aspect of Streaker's life is her deep bond with her sister Wings. They share a special connection that adds depth and warmth to Streaker's character. While she values her independence, Streaker finds comfort and security in the presence of her beloved sister, making them a delightful duo for a loving forever home.

If you're looking for a cat who embodies elegance, independence, and a touch of aloof charm, Streaker might just be the perfect match for you. Consider welcoming this regal beauty into your home and witness the magic she brings to your life.

Additional adoption info

1) Adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. The first step is to email us at AHcatadoption@gmail.com. Be sure to include your full name, age, address, and phone number. We will respond as soon as possible to answer your questions and schedule an appointment to visit our shelter. If you have already submitted an inquiry through Adopt-a-Pet or Petfinder about a particular cat, there is no need to send a separate email.
2) During your appointment, you will complete a questionnaire and work with an adoption coordinator to find the cat that is right for you. This process may involve meeting with numerous cats, or even making more than one visit to Animal House. You and your new cat will live together for a lifetime, so this step is important.
3) Before adoption, we ensure that your cat has been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

More about this shelter

Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center is a private, non-profit, “no-kill” organization dedicated to providing the homeless, abandoned cats and kittens of St. Louis with a better life. We are committed to maintaining an adoption center that provides a safe, healthy and enriching environment, and our goal is a solid and lasting adoption for every cat and kitten in our care.

Animal House opened in 2010 when the City of St. Louis closed its municipal shelter and ended a number of services for stray animals. Not only did the 75 cats residing in their shelter need a place to go, the St. Louis community needed services for abandoned, homeless cats. Animal House was born out of that need. Today we house 200-250 cats and kittens at any given time.

The cats and kittens at Animal House are rescued from the streets of our community and often come from challenging circumstances that include neglect, abandonment, or injury. We have created a safe place where cats in need find shelter, medical and nutritional support, individualized socialization and interaction, enrichment, lots of love, and the opportunity to connect with a loving, lifelong family. We impose no time limit on this process, giving each cat or kitten the time they need. We emphasize matchmaking throughout our adoption process to ensure the best possible match.
