GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 4 years
WEIGHT: About 6 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small dogs, Unknown with cats

Introducing Ginger. Ginger has a beautiful red coat, and is super adorable. Her foster Mom and Dad call her the "perfect foster" (and they are veterans with our group that have had many fosters!)

In early October, we received a call asking if we would be willing to take a Mom Chihuahua and her three puppies. The husband in the family was upset that their dog had puppies and literally tossed the Mom and babies into the back yard. The weather was turning cold, and they would not have lasted long in those conditions. Sigh. We immediately drove 45 minutes to get them. And we are thrilled to say that the Mom (Ginger) and her three puppies have thrived. Ginger has been a great Mama. She was so gentle with her puppies. They are weaned now and growing. Ginger has now been vetted and is ready for her forever home.

Ginger is great with the other dogs in her foster home. She fit right into the pack and gets along well with all of them. She enjoys playing and running with them. And she will curl up in the same bed with them to take naps. Ginger also loves toys. Her favorites are the tug-of-war toy so she can involve other dogs! She also enjoys a game of fetch! Ginger loves going outside. She enjoys barking at squirrels, rolling in the grass, and sunning herself. A home with a fence is a must have for Ginger!

Ginger adores her humans. She is so excited to see you and will greet you at the door when you come home. She loves snuggling. In the evening, she will crawl up on your lap and watch TV with you. She gets so comfortable that she often falls asleep in your lap. It melts our hearts! Ginger's special talent is singing. When you talk to her in a higher sing-song voice, she will mimmic you and gently sing back. It is super cute.

Ginger is super smart. She is completely potty trained and has never had an accident in her foster home. She is crate trained and will sleep in her crate all evening. We are beginning to leash train her as we think she will enjoy walks. She is catching on quickly and she will be a champion in no time at all.

Ginger is about 4 years old and weighs a perfect 6 pounds. Ginger enjoys routines and organization. She does not like a lot of chaos in her home. There is a 17 year old human sister in her foster home and Ginger adores her. Ginger loves people of all ages but would do best in a home with older, mature children. Ginger would enjoy another small dog as a playmate, but would also do well as an only dog as long as her family spent a lot of time with her every day. Ginger's foster parents say she "is perfect in every way". We think you will agree!
