My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Avery and I am a 2.5 year old female guinea pig. I currently live with my best friend Alyse, and we must be adopted together! We were abandoned by our former mom once she adopted a new dog -- the dog would stand outside our cage and bark and bark and bark and try to get us through the bars. When we came to the rescue, we were terrified!

I'm a very special kind of piggie, my fur is "satin". As you can see from my pictures, it's extra shiny and pretty, which makes me look like a diva (and I am one). Unfortunately, this type of coat is linked to calcium related genetic problems which may show up later in life. I have already had a screening x-ray and right now I am perfectly healthy, but my new family needs to know about the possibility!

I like being held and petted, although I am a little nervous about the trip up. I've been looking for my forever home since August of 2008! Have I just been waiting for you?
