My story

German Shepherd / Cattle Dog Mix​
Estimated to be about 1.5 years old
Pecos is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

Pecos came to us from the Bastrop Animal Shelter. He is an incredibly well behaved pup and knows several commands. He is very social with other dogs and very gentle.

I HAVE: An obedient, family oriented, affectionate personality. I am naturally empathic and will put my head in the lap of anyone who needs some comfort. I sit on command and am learning leash training quickly. I am crate trained, potty trained and love rides in the car.

I LOVE: Making eye contact with you and talking to you. I know that sounds crazy but I can actually talk to you. I know what you want me to do and sometimes I talk back with gentle moans and groans. If you put your hand on my fur, I melt and lean into you. I’m all about the love.

I GET ALONG WITH: Literally everyone. My social skills are fantastic. I love to play with other dogs and am very respectful of their boundaries. I’ve been close to chickens, turkeys, pigs and donkeys and mind my manners well. Kids are totally my thing and I would love a home with some kiddos.

I WOULD RATHER NOT: Be in a home that will keep me away from them. Being part of the family is really important to a soulful, empathic dog like me.

I NEED: A home that will connect with me and take me places with them. I am a social butterfly and love going out and about and meeting new dogs and people.
