My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CHARLIE GIRL is a 9.5-year-old spayed female black lab. Charlie Girl weighs 74 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION Charlie Girl is a sweet, gentle soul with an adorable frosted muzzle and beautiful brown eyes that sparkle golden bronze when she's sitting in the sun. She has good manners in the house and is always polite when friends come to visit. Her favorite reward for being such a good girl is dog biscuits! Charlie hasn't had much love and attention lately and is ready to find a family that will spoil her silly with snuggles and treats. She is good with dogs and cats. She has allergies that have gone unattended for a long time. She is being treated with antibiotics and medicated baths twice a week for a skin infection. She will look beautiful once her hairs grow back in. Charlie Girl is an owner surrender because the owner had to move into assisted living.

Update: Charlie Girl looks like a little black bear. She has the spunk of a dog half her age, is extremely affectionate, and has an inner joy beyond belief. She loves taking sniff walks, and enjoys romping outside with her 2 year old sister Haley. Charlie loves her medicated baths, and is just now beginning to play with toys and balls. She knows how to settle nicely when indoors, and loves napping in the sunny spots. Watch her taking a walk in her pretty coat. Charlie Girl is enjoying playing with toys, lounging on a dog bed, and hanging out with her canine friends. She is easy going and sweet!

Update: Charlie has excellent house manners and has never picked up, or chewed anything. She's actually just now understanding what toys are, but still not real interested in them. She will pick up a soft toy from time to time and carry it around, seemingly acting very proud of herself...she's SO darned cute! Charlie is such an easygoing, loving, simple girl. She's without a doubt the easiest going foster I've ever had. It never once felt like we had 3 Labs living in the house!! She immediately blended into our routine, and she did the same with her foster sibs.

Update: Charlie is a beautiful girl both inside and out, and is truly a gentle soul. She loves everyone and every thing she comes in contact with. Her favorite things in life are to hang out with her humans (or 4-legged friends) on the sofa, take sniff walks, and being outdoors - laying on her therapeutic mat on the deck - enjoying the smells and beauty of nature. No city life for this girl...quiet suburban, or country setting only. Charlie would be a perfect match for an older person or persons who had another older dog where there wouldn't be rough and tumble play. Charlie is also able to do stairs just fine it they aren't real steep. Charlie Girl is a spunky sweetheart! Charlie is quite agile for her age and gets around very well. She has excellent house manners (except if there's a bag of dog food left out that she can get into!) Char loves her food, and her foster recently found her laying on the kitchen floor where where she had neatly chewed a small hole in the corner of a new dog food bag. Kibbles rolled out surrounding her, and needless to say she was in hog heaven!! Her foster mom now knows that the new bags of food need to stay behind closed doors! After all, she IS a LAB!
