My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** BONDED PAIR ***
"CHINITA" (blond) and "MYRA" (black & white) are an exceptionally sweet & loving 6 - 7 month old, 35 - 40 lb., bonded duo rescued from a very high kill pound, only to find themselves needing rescued from a boarder/hoarder who neglected & starved them. These 2 precious souls had the saddest eyes, looked like skeletons, filled with worms and other parasites, wreaked like urine & feces which they had been forced to lay in, and had to be nursed back to health. (Food was so foreign to their tummies, even softened food, we needed to puree a high caloric/protein mixture and initially syringe feed them). Soon after experiencing tender loving care, a warm/dry place, food, water, medications ... the sparkle came back to their eyes, which now flowed with love, sweetness & gratitude. Chinita & Myra have continued to thrive while in our rescue's care ... overcoming their internal parasites/worms, learning to trust & love again, as well as gaining alot of weight, and now are in much more robust health. And their joy now results in their happy playing, as puppies should. Both are very smart, eager to please & submissive girls, quickly learning house training, and responding gleefully with praise. These 2 tender hearts love to cuddle & give sweet, soft kisses. They depend on each other for confidence & comfort, and combined, the love and joy the duo bring to a home is magnified 300 fold. They need to be fed separately (as Chinita eats quicker & will try to help herself to Myra's food), but love to share a crate & bed with each other at all other times. A gentle, quieter house would be optimal for them, as they have very gentle personalities, and thrive with tenderness. They love the company of other dogs, but are puppies, so sometimes respond too exuberantly when they meet older, bigger dogs.
Chinita & Myra have been de-wormed, are current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, micro-chipped, crate-trained and house-trained. Neither Chinita or Myra are yet 'spayed' due to them being young & their previous neglected condition when we rescued them. (Research cautions against too early of spay/neuter and it's associated chronic health issues). We recommend continuing our wellness regime for a few months prior to spaying so they are in optimal robust health for surgery. This rescue does not administer it's own vaccination shots. All of our rescued dogs' medical care has been administered by a licensed Veterinarian. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
