My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh hear goes a piece of my heart again ♥️. Jimi, Jimi James, Jimi Nubs, Jimi two shoes, baby Jimbo. He has a lot of Nick names. There is a lot to say about Jimi since he is special needs, so please read the bio entirely. Jimi is 1.5 years old and 13 lb but should be about 15lb. He is still very skinny, although he is slowly gaining weight. As you can see, Jimi has deformed front limbs. They have been x-rayed and there is no surgery that can be done and amputation is not recommended. We have raised the funds for a cart and will get that ordered by the first of the year. Jimi's cart will go with him of course to his new home. Jimi also has a benign small marble size tumor on his side. This should go away on it's own and may come back and be red and irritated and then disappear again to a smaller flesh colored tumor that appears to look like a mole. We have had the cells tested and he had a steroid shot to help with inflammation. When Jimi first came to us I am not gonna lie, the first week I was like "wtf did I get myself into" Jimi was extremely anxious. He whined non stop, threw himself off the couch (Wich he can get up on by himself without stairs btw) , he would follow me franticly through the house causes his chest and nubs to be raw. He would NOT kennel or stay in a pen, he would slam himself against it, so I let him in my bed with me. The 1st night he peed and pooped in the bed. He was a mess to say the least and I was about in tears. As the days passed by Jimi still sleeps with me in bed but after night two has never had another accident and sleeps like a rock through the night under the covers with his head on the other pillow like a human. I can now move about the day with ease and Jimi just sits on the couch with his SQUEEKY toys. He LOVES TOYS. No more raw skin, nice healthy calluses of white with no boo boos. Jimi goes outside to potty now as long as I take him. Please keep in mind if you want to adopt Jimi most of the time you will have to carry him outside and back in so you must be able to physically lift him for the next 15 or so years . He is so good with the other dogs, even baby Cheals at 2.4 lb. Jimi actually watches over Cheals like it is his duty. that is who is in the stroller in the photo above. If she is in the stroller outside, Jimi is sitting close by to watch over her. He does great with kids and new people, other dogs and loves the cats. He is loyal, loving, kind, and has a lot of soul. I just keep Jimi out in the house while I go and run errands or do other things and he never goes potty in the house anymore and he has never ever chewed anything or destroyed anything he was not supposed to. Jimi is a very people pleasing dog so as soon as you reprimand him for something all you have to say is Jiiimmmmiii, no no. And he sulks and will never do it again, then he makes you feel bad. He is very sensitive. He craves attention and would enjoy a life where someone is home a lot and sits a lot. He loves cuddling. That is the one thing I can not give Jimi. Although we had a rough start, and I am sure there will be some major transition time in his new home as well, I can't imagine never having Jimi as a part of our family, even if it is just for a short time. He has so many human qualities and facial expressions. He is very intuitive ad kind. Jimi will make a fabulous companion to that special someone that will give him the time and patience he needs to learn the ropes in a new place. Jimi can travel for the right home, but accommodations will need to be made for the snow and his nubs since he does not have paw pads up front and will most likely not ALWAYS use the wheels. Maybe some booties or snow shoes etc that will have to be fitted special for him. I can not promise you Jimi will be an easy dog at first, but I can promise you he is worth it and you will never regret adopting him. He makes me smile every day.
