My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Walter is a male Black/Gray/White DSH approx 16 wks old. Walter was brought in with his mother and litter-mates after she was rescued from a bad situation. Walter was the runt and was much smaller than his siblings. Walter was kept with his mother for 2-3 more weeks for extra nutrition. Once Walter's mom was spayed, he was taken from her. Walter had been nursing and eating on his own from day one. One sibling out of Walter's litter did die unexpectedly with no know cause. Walter arrived 11/09/18 at our clinic. Walter's BCS was a 2/9, R eye had purulent discharge. Tobramycin Eye Drops were administered for 1-2 weeks. Eye is much better. Revolution kitten was applied. Fecal-roundworms. Given 1/2 cc Pyrantel PO. Mother was tested for FLIV and was negative for FeLV, HW, and FIV. Walter weighed 0.69 pounds. We held off on vaccines due to poor condition. Weight and temperature were recorded daily. 11/27/18- Tapeworms were noticed on Walter's rectum. 0.2 mL Praziquantel was given SQ. 11/28/18- FVRCP vaccine was given. Fecal-negative. BCS 4/9, Weight was 1.06 pounds. 12/04/18- Staff noticed Walter was not feeling well and lethargic. Temp was 105.0 0.7 mL Onsior SQ was given. SQ fluids were given. CBC-revealed anemia indicating possible blood parasite. Walter ran fever for 2-3 days and continued receiving Onsior injections, fluid therapy, and was given 0.03 mL Imidocarb and 0.03 mL Atropine IM. Doxycycline Susp was dispensed to be given for 30 days. 12/09/18- Revolution kitten applied. Walter is much improved and doing very well. Although small for his age Walter keeps up with his best friend Sammy. Both eat can and dry kitten food. Walter and Sammy can be seen at Chestnut Animal Clinic by appointment.
