Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*****Please Read Before Inquiring*****
Tucker will be two years old in May 2019. He is neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative and on preventatives for heartworm and flea/tick. He walks pretty well on a leash, is mostly house-trained, but will need a refresher in his new home. Tucker is on the larger size, about 33 pounds.
Tucker does not get along with other dogs, does not like cats, and has never been around children. Accordingly, he will need to be the only dog in the home with his adopter having no aspirations of adding another pet and no children.
In his short life, Tucker has only seen his backyard and his house. New things worry him. He likes to go for walks at the park, but he wants to stay close to his person. He has never been taught to spend any time in a crate and does not go willingly, even for the best treats. However, he is quiet when he is in his crate. He is a bit worried about his head being touched and his collar being handled. He has so much potential to be a great pet. He loves to play with toys and very much wants to learn how to be a lap dog, but is still unsettled about that.
We are looking for a home for Tucker that has no other pets and no plans to add another pet, no children, an experienced owner that can understand Tucker’s worries of being handled by the collar and picked up, that has the patience to work with him to like a crate so that if it is needed it can be used, and that overall has the experience, patience and loving hand to help him be the dog he was meant to be.
We want to keep him within a fairly close radius to our bases in Amarillo/Lubbock, Texas and will not adopt outside of an 8-9 hour radius of Amarillo/Lubbock. If you think you may be the home for Tucker, please go to our website: topoftexascorgirescue.com, print and complete an application, and return it to us at: information@topof texascorgirescue.com along with information about yourself, your home, experience, and why you might be just the thing that Tucker is looking for.
