Meet Lizzie, our newest CRT rescue available for adoption. Lizzie was named after Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth Taylor is known for her beautiful eyes and her elegance. We think you will agree that our Lizzie has these same beautiful characteristics. You will adore her.

Lizzie has experienced some tragedy in the last few months, and is looking for a family to continue the love she has experienced in her young life. Her human Daddy passed away recently after a courageous battle with heart disease. This gentleman's wife was left with 9 dogs, a household to run, and all the things that need to be completed after losing a life partner. She is wanting to move into a smaller apartment and cannot take all 9 dogs. So she is reaching out to CRT to help rehome them. We are touched by her request and are working with her during this transition. We are thrilled to introduce Lizzie to you.

Lizzie gets along with the other small dog in her foster home. She enjoys playing with her doggie friend and hanging around together in the doggie bed. Lizzie also enjoys toys. Her favorites are the squeeky ones and the fuzzy ones.

Lizzie also loves her humans! Lizzie is one of the most affectionate dogs we have ever fostered. She enjoys cuddling and being in the same room with her family. Her favorite thing to do is to lay on your lap all evening and just be with you as you watch TV. She loves belly rubs and will roll over on her back begging for one! Lizzie is a little shy. But she warms up fairly quickly and then wants to be your best friend.

Lizzie is about 2 years old. She weighs a perfect 12 pounds. She is white with a beautiful and unique black dapple patter on her coat. Lizzie does not bark much and would be perfect for any environment. She enjoys activity and also enjoys a laid back atmosphere. So we believe she will fit in with almost any lifestyle. She loves all people and warms up quickly to new visitors. There are no children in her foster home, but would enjoy older children. We believe she would do well as an only dog, or maybe with one doggie sibling. She seems like she would get overwhelmed in a home with too many dogs.

Lizzie is smart. She is potty trained and will go potty outside or on the pee pee pads. She has learned commands such as "sit" and "stay". Lizzie is learning to walk on a leash and is loving it. Every evening she literally runs to the door when it is time to walk. She is a little nervous outside of her home environment. Sometimes on her walks she is apprehensive when meeting new people or new dogs. But every day we see her confidence growing and growing. At night she sleeps in a doggie bed, but she would love to crawl in bed with you and snuggle under the covers.

Lizzie is being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area. If she sounds like the new best friend you've been looking for, please fill out an application! Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Lizzie is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $250 adoption donation is required. As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
