Introducing adorable MaryAnn. MaryAnn is a tri-colored female puppy. She is sweet and a pure joy to be around. You are about to fall in love!

In early October, we received a call asking if we would be willing to take a Mom Chihuahua and her three puppies. The husband in the family was upset that their dog had puppies and literally tossed the Mom and babies into the back yard. The weather was turning cold, and they would not have lasted long in those conditions. Sigh. We immediately drove 45 minutes to get them. And we are thrilled to say that the Mom and her puppies have thrived. MaryAnn is one of these puppies. Her vetting is completed and she is ready for her forever home.

MaryAnn gets along with other small dogs in her foster home. She has a lot of energy and loves to run and play with them. She also loves to cuddle with them. MaryAnn loves toys of all kinds. She loves squeaky toys and chew bones. Her favorite is a rope toy which she uses to play tug-of-war. She plays for hours at this game!

MaryAnn loves going outside and exploring the yard. Note that MaryAnn is small and therefore will always need her human near by while she is out (there are instances where hawks or large birds will swoop down and pick up small dogs under 5 pounds, so you will want to be there to protect MaryAnn). We also want to emphasize that your fence must be very secure. MaryAnn is so tiny that she can easily slip under the smallest opening in a fence, so she will need to be in a home with a solid, fenced yard. MaryAnn loves to run and explore, so her home will need to be secure in all aspects.

MaryAnn loves to snuggle with her humans. She is adorable in all aspects and wants to be your best friend! MaryAnn has an outgoing personality and adores everyone she meets. Her tail is constantly wagging and she is so happy to be around you. She loves to cuddle. This little girl is a velcro dog with her humans. She loves to follow you around the house to see what you are working on. Whatever it is, she wants to be a part of it. Note that she is very active and loves to be right by your feet, so could be a tripping hazard! And she definitely wants to be on your lap while you watch TV in the evenings. MaryAnn never meets a stranger - everyone is her friend!

MaryAnn currently weighs about 4 pounds. We think she will be 5-6 pounds when fully grown. Due to her small size, we think she would do best in an adult only home or a home with older, mature children (14 and older). MaryAnn is about 4 months old (her surrendering family told us she was born on September 22nd) and has a lifetime of love to share. MaryAnn would do best in a home with a fenced in yard as she loves to play outside. She loves to play with other dogs and we would like to adopt her into a family with at least one other small dog to play with.

MaryAnn is working on her potty training and is almost there. She goes potty outside and has also learned to use pee pee pads. She currently sleeps in a soft dog bed inside of an Ex-Pen. Due to her tiny size, we do not recommend bringing MaryAnn into bed with you.

MaryAnn is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. If this sweet girl sounds like the right fit for your home, our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

MaryAnn is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $300 adoption fee required.
