Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!***
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet.

Shorty Welsh/Jindo mix, 12 months old, 25 lbs, neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, heart worm negative, fecal tested, treated for scabies in Korea, healed.

The heartache never ends, poor Shorty & his adorable brother Lion were born in & lived in a greenhouse next Moran market in Korea where the living conditions were not sanitary & safe & unfortunately both boys ended up with horrible skin conditions & the owner could not care for them so he dropped them off at a high kill shelter in Korea.

Both Shorty & Lion were rescued by the Korean rescue just in time before he was about to lose his precious life along with his brother Lion & as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out.

Lion & Shorty were both bought back to the USA & are now US citizens. Straight away we could see Shorty was thin & he really needed to put on weight which his foster mums have been working on & he has since put on weight.

Shorty is nothing but pure love, even in the videos of Shorty being in Korea in a cage in the shelter waiting to be rescued his tail was wagging with joy. This boy is is such a very special sweetheart of a soul & a gentle spirit & is looking for his forever home where he has dog friends who love to run & play & chase each other. Shorty is being fostered with other dogs & currently in his foster home he loves his foster brother Max the stunning husky, they have the best time together running & playing & chasing each other yet when it is time to rest Shortly will snuggle with everyone.

Shorty absolutely adores people & snuggling with them & is doing well walking on a leash. He loves to play & he does enjoy toys, this is probably the first time he has ever experienced toys since being in the rescue.

Shorty’s foster mums says he has puppy listening ears but wants to please you & try’s really hard all the time to give you Shorty kisses.

Shorty has been around many breeds of dogs & he is currently fostered with foster siblings so he must go to a forever home with other dogs present in the home who are playful & enjoy playing chase & then snuggling up afterwards.

Shorty is perhaps a Welsh/jindo mix what he is mixed with we do not know for sure, he is roughly 42 lbs & still needs to put on weight & his wonderful foster family are working on putting weight on this sweetheart, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, heart worm negative, had a fecal tested & was negative, Shorty has been dewormed & had to go through treatments for scabies in Korea but now this boys skin is looking so much better & his fur is now fluffy & healthy & is looking for his forever family.

Shorty has been around cats since being in the rescue in his current foster home & does great with them but regardless it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children.

We do not know for sure what breeds Shorty is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.

As with all of our rescues & Shorty’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Shorty potty trained or available, we will not respond.

We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Shorty & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Shorty who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow.

Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.

Lion has an adoption fee of $745 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well.
As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves.
Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding.
