Ryder is ready for a real family! Here are 10 things that this charming canine wants his forever home to know about him:
1. I am almost 2 years old and I weigh 130lb. I am a very BIG boy with a heart and personality to match!
2. My foster mom suspects that I might be part Fila Brasileiro, which means that I will need a knowledgeable and experienced home. I am NOT a good candidate for a first time Mastiff owner.
3. Like many dogs of my breed, I can be wary of strangers, and I need to be introduced to new people and visitors slowly. My natural instinct is to be protective, so a busy house is NOT for me.
4. When it comes to humans that I know, I am a total love-bug. I really enjoy getting on the bed or couch with my people and snuggling!
5. I haven’t had much experience around kids, but because of my size and general goofiness, I don’t think I should live with children younger than 12.
6. I have met boy and girl dogs of all sizes and I get along great with everyone. I would love to go to a home with other dogs as long as my new owners could let us get to know each other slowly.
7. Although I’ve never lived with a feline, I do see lots of barn cats at the Bullpen, and I don’t bother them too much. I might be able to cohabitate with kitties, given a slow and proper introduction.
8. I am an extremely sweet and playful boy that’s eager to please and super smart. I already know basic commands, and I think I could learn lots of new tricks if my new family wanted to teach me some.
9. I have excellent doggy manners, I’m housebroken and I’m really great in a crate. When we go for a walk, I sometimes get excited and pull on the leash in the beginning, but after a few minutes I settle down and I remember to walk beside you.
10. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered.
