DOGS: Female dogs over 50lbs, after slow introduction and integration
PERSONALITY: Medium energy level; Confident, out-going, and very smart. Enjoys eating, eating, and eating. When he’s not eating, he likes to play with toys and pal around the yard with his girlfriend Morticia
TRAINING: Housebroken, leash-trained, knows basic obedience and how to use a dog door
Ready to give Gomez the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at The Bullpen Way Station & Sanctuary under the 'work with us' tab.
We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.

All adopters must fill out an adoption application, which is conveniently located on our website, www.bullpenrescue.org, under the "work with us" tab in the top right of the page.
After you submit your application, the form goes to our online database where it is accessed and reviewed by the members of our team. A rescue volunteer should be in contact within a couple of days to discuss your application, your expectations, and any of the dogs you’re interested in. If you don’t hear anything from us within a reasonable amount of time, don’t be afraid to reach out to us via email at info@bullpenrescue.org!
Once we’ve spoken to you, we’ll begin to check your references. When we’ve gotten the green light from your references, a volunteer will be in touch with you to set up a home visit. We are merely looking to see that you are able to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for your dog to live in. At that time, we will also take the opportunity to inspect your fence, yard, and neighborhood.
As soon as your home visit has been completed and approved, you’re officially ready to adopt! At this point, a member of the Bullpen crew will be in touch to discuss the adoption contract/fee. Fees range from $50 for very old dogs to $500 for puppies. On average, the adoption fee is between $300-$400
Depending on the distance between you and your new family member, transport may have to be arranged (for applicants who live in close proximity to our facility in Georgia or one of our foster homes, this will not apply). We WILL NOT SEND A DOG VIA COMMERCIAL AIR, but we do offer two alternative options for long-haul transports:
(1) Commercial: We regularly use a wonderful, reasonably-priced ($150-$200) transport company that travels between Texas and Georgia and then up the East Coast on a weekly basis. The cost of the transport PLUS the cost of the mandatory health certificate must be covered by the applicant unless otherwise specified by the Bullpen.
(2) Private: We also have an individual who is available to do private transport, but applicants must be willing to cover the individual’s travel expenses and meet the driver at least half of the way.
Post-adoption, we reserve the right to make up to three follow-up visits, but we’ll make sure to give you notice beforehand, and the visits are generally informal. Additionally, we always encourage our new adopters to stay in touch with updates or pictures (email, text, or join the Bullpen’s Facebook page- Facebook.com/BullpenRescue) and to feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
