My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

So sweet, we call him Sugar Cube! Here are 10 things Mr. Cube wants his new family to know about him:

1. I am a 2 year old Cane Corso mix.

2. I was terrified at the shelter, and I still sometimes get nervous in new situations. I need a family that will continue to work with me to help me learn to trust humans again and build confidence.

3. I am a very athletic guy and I love to run and play outside. An active family would be a great fit for me.

4. I have met some of the other Bullpen dogs, and I like them a lot. I think I would do well in a home that had a large, confident female dog that I could play with.

5. Since I came to rescue, I haven’t spent much time in the company of smaller dogs, but I don’t think I would mind living in a home with one. My new family just needs to make sure we have a slow, proper introduction.

6. I am interested in the barn cats at the sanctuary, but I listen when I’m told to leave them alone. If my new family has kitties and is willing to teach me how to interact with them, I think we might be able to cohabitate peacefully.

7. I haven’t had much experience with kids, but I’m pretty sure I could live in a home with older children, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious.

8. I don’t like it when you leave me alone outside, because I’m not sure that you’re coming back. My new family will need to have a very tall, very secure fence around their yard, because I am likely to escape and try to find you. I think it would be best if you could walk me on a leash or make sure I’m supervised when outdoors for the first few months.

9. I am housebroken and crate-trained, and I am getting better on a leash every day!

10. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered.

Ready to give Sugar Cube the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab.

**We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.**
