My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

NAME: Miko
GENDER: Male (Neutered)
AGE: About 6 years
WEIGHT: About 6 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with children 12 and older

Say hello to Miko, a delightful little man who loves to play, relax and be with his family. Miko was surrendered to CRT when his family felt though could no longer provide a safe environment for him. He had been attacked by much bigger dogs in the home twice. We were happy to bring him into our CRT program. He has been a joy to have around.

Blending into his new foster family was effortless for Miko. His foster mom says he’s very well behaved and quickly adapted to the routine of the household! If there is a cozy spot to be found in the house, you can bet that Miko is there! He prefers to snuggle in a cozy spot in the room with his people. He can also be found on the heated blanket during cold spells. Miko loves being snuggled up against you or in your lap. It could only be made better by adding a blanket and administering belly rubs!

Miko gets along with the other small dog in his foster home. Miko is low key, but has a great energy level when playing fetch or going for a walk. He gets very excited when he spends time outside exploring the yard, chasing squirrels, and sunbathing. He also loves going for daily walks. And he loves mealtime!

Miko is an easy dog to have around. Barking is limited to alerting humans or when startled out on walks. He is crate and potty trained. He’s fearful and standoffish with strangers but warms up quickly when given time and space. This little guy is sweet, an excellent walking companion, loves playing fetch and tug of war, and loves belly rubs. He wants to be loved and deserves a family who will love and care for him in return.

Miko is about 6 years old and weighs approximately 6 pounds. He has a black medium length coat with some sprinkles of gray. There are no children in the foster home and Miko seems fearful of them when out on walks but he would probably do fine in a home with older, respectful, mature children (maybe 10 and older). Miko is a mellow, laid back guy, and would probably prefer an adult home where he can hang out and chill. He would do great as an only dog or would fit in well with another laid back adult dog.

Miko is being fostered in the Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas) area. If this sweet guy sounds like the right fit for your home, our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Miko is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $250 adoption donation is required. As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
