Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mackie was rescued from the Dominican Republic, and came to our rescue extremely anxious. Every experience was new and scary at first! She slowly began to learn to trust and has made some good improvements since being rescued.
Mackie would like to tell you a little bit about herself, but being an anxious pup, she wanted to write up her own list in her own words, so you could decide if you're her forever human!
Hi, I'm Mackie, and I am a quirky and loving girl! I have so much to tell you about myself, so here goes!
1. I'm loyal and very affectionate, and I love to be stroked and scratched!
2. I'm a good eater, but I'm not possessive or greedy around food!
3. I don't like to brag, but I am just fantastic in the off-leash park! I go and play with my doggie friends, and just love to chase and be chased!
4. I need a quiet home with only 1 or 2 people. Little humans (I think you call them children?) frighten me so it's best if I am in a home without them.
5. I am not vicious and show zero signs of aggression, but I do bark when someone enters the house!
6. I am pee pad trained, but please don't be mad at me if I have an accident, it makes me sad and a little scared if I know you're disappointed in me. Please be patient with me until I have mastered my house training!
7. I'm not too confident around stairs, I get especially nervous when I have to walk down them.
8. I need to be around my humans, I get separation anxiety and if you're gone for too long I will chew on anything that has your scent on it. I don't mean to chew your things, I promise! But I just want to be around you! So if you can be home as much as possible, you are definitely my forever human!
9. I get a little scared when we go on car rides, because I think you are going to leave me in the car. I am a flight risk in these situations and will try to escape, so make sure you keep me on a leash at all times when we go out in the car!
10. I am a bit picky when it comes to commands. If you tell me to sit, I will. But if you tell me to come, I won't. I know, I can't explain it either, but I just thought you should know!
I know I have some work to do, but I have a lot of love to give, and if you're willing to be patient with me and guide me in the right direction, I will do my best to make you proud! Although I'm a nervous girl, I am sweet and loving, and will be your very best friend if you'll let me live with you forever!
Love, Mackie
P.S. I hate snow! Unless I'm at the park, then I am okay with it, but other than that, please keep that white, cold fluffy stuff away from me!
