WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Coffee male, maybe poodle mix, 2 years old, neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, heart worm negative. 14.8 lbs, went to our trainer in CA & spent months being worked with.

The sadness in this sweet babies eyes sitting in a kill shelter in CA would rip your heart out the way he put his little face & nose into the fence peering out just wanting to be loved & have a family. This was Coffee’s daily routine of coming to the fence waiting for someone to love him & take him home until one day he gave up & did not bother coming to the fence anymore & just laid in the one spot, he had totally given up hope of ever leaving the shelter. Well we wanted him to be loved & cherished as he should be so we pulled him out of the shelter & wanted to give him that loving family.

We got Coffee out of the shelter & straight to our vets & very quickly it was discovered that his neuter site was quite a mess, it was red & inflamed & had been hurting this poor sweet little man & he needed pain meds & a injection for inflammation & possible infection.
Coffee was on the mend but in the foster home in CA Coffee let it be known he was not fond of men at all & a man had been very cruel  to him we believe from his behavior towards several men so he needed help in building trust with men again so for several months he spent time with our wonderful trainer & learnt to trust men again.

Coffee was bought back to WA & is being fostered in a wonderful loving foster home with other dogs & he is such a doll, he loves people & other dogs & had clearly been through so much when we rescued him, but now he knows he will never be hurt or mistreated ever again. He is does well being picked up & held & does well on a leash, he just wants to be loved.
Coffee’s previous foster mum in CA said he was so sweet & loving with her & cuddly & affectionate & did great with his foster siblings it was just men that he did not like but now since going to the trainer he does so well with men.
Coffee will need other dogs in his forever home as he loves to play with the other dogs so this is a must.

Coffee has been around many breeds of dogs & he is currently fostered with foster siblings so he must go to a forever home with other dogs present in the home who are playful & love to play.

Coffee is roughly 14.8 lbs & 2 years old, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, heart worm negative & we have invested time, love, devotion & money into him going to a trainer & learning to trust & love men again.

Coffee has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children.

We do not know for sure what breed Coffee is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.

As with all of our rescues & Coffee’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Coffee potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.

We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Coffee & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Coffee who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.

Coffee has an adoption fee of $695 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well.?As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. ?Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding.?WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.?Adoption Process ?All of our dogs are in foster homes, so please fill out an application on our website to meet them in person: www.aberdeenstr.com.
