My story

Moonie came to us as a stray who had big reservations about humans, but she has come around and loves petting and belly rubs now. She is still a little scared of sudden movements and will likely need a calm home where she can feel safe!

If you are interested in adopting from us, please email mcphersonhumanesociety@hotmail.com for more information. We require an approved adoption application before bringing a kitty home, and those can be found at http://www.mcphersonhumanesociety.com/adopt.

Go meet their pets

Our cat sanctuary is open by appointment. We want to be as accessible as we can to people who want to meet our kitties.

More about this shelter

The McPherson County Humane Society was founded in 1979. We promote animal welfare and work hard to prevent animal abuse and/or neglect. We constantly stress the need and benefit of having all pets spayed or neutered! We are proud to have a stellar reputation of cleanliness and calmness at our cat shelter, which comfortably houses around 100 cats at any given time. Every one of our cats is tested, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered (age appropriate) before leaving our shelter.
