Fiona is a beautiful six month old maltese/poodle maltipoo that we rescued at just eight weeks old.
Her owners learned that she had a massive hole in her heart and would die with going to a cardiologist.
Since they did not have the funds available to care for a very sick puppy, we stepped in, and got her immediately to our wonderful cardiologist who determined
That without a life saving operation to close the hole, Fiona would not live very long. We were told she needed to weigh at least 4 ½ to 5 pounds in order to do the surgery, and Fiona was just a pound and a half on her first visit. Over the next few months we monitored her closely and fed her very, very well. She was always happy, and social and loved being with other dogs in her foster home.
When Fiona was 4 ½ pounds the expensive heart surgery was performed, and it was a success!
She just had her last check up with the cardiologist and is now a normal puppy with a good heart!
We are looking for a VERY SPECIAL home for this VERY special puppy. Fiona needs to be placed with either one of her friends, Tessa or Lucy, or in a home where there is another young and active dog or dogs.
PLEASE do not contact us if you do not have another dog and Fiona would be an only dog. We will not consider any home where she will not be with a another young dog.
A very chaotic environment would also not be good for her. We need experienced, loving owners who are not gone all day and are local to the LA area. Although she is all better, we feel she still needs to be in the city where her cardiologists are. Fiona is sweet and loving, but also independent.
Fiona is microchipped and vaccinated and will be spayed before she goes into a home.
WE ONLY ADOPT OUT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS A HOME CHECK AND TRIAL PERIOD ARE REQUIRED.
