My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.

My foster mom said the doggy doctor things I'm about 7 years old based on my toofers. Even though I'm not a puppy, I've got plenty of spunk and love to give a family! I'm a super duper snuggler and get along just fine with both canine and feline friends as long as they aren't super pushy. I love snuggling in the warm blankets on the couch next to my human friends - do you have a couch and a lap that I might be able to share with you??

When meeting new people, I can be a little shy at first, but I warm up fast with love and little patience. Tasty doggy treats help too! My foster mom says that I'm doing pretty well at doing my personal business outside but I'm not a big fan of this Michigan fluffy cold stuff that keeps falling from the sky. My foster dad keeps an area shoveled for me - isn't he sweet?!? I sometimes decide it's just too much for a pretty gal like me and do my business where it's warmer. If I'm crated or given a confined space, I keep it nice and neat.

When I came to the kind folks at NBS Animal Rescue I didn't have the best of previous lives. I lived with my two puppies and a bunch of other animals in a small trailer that the animal shelter people called a "hoarding situation." I had a huge mammary tumor that wasn't taken care of, my teeth were in bad shape, and I was pretty darn skinny. The awesome folks at NBS Animal Rescue got me spayed so I can't have any more puppies (thank goodness!) had my mammary tumor removed, and have scheduled me to have my toofers cleaned and polished. I'm up to date on all of my vaccines, heartworm negative, and ready to find a family of my own to love!

My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?

These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 10yrs or older.
- 100% fenced in yard preferred, or guaranteed multiple daily walks per day. No electric fences please.

If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
