My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola is a 2-year-old, 48-pound Alaskan Husky with one blue and one brown eye. If you have a sofa, Lola wants to live with you. She loves nothing better than to stretch out full length on the sofa for a snooze, though she will happily make room for you should you desire to sit down. If you have a blanket on your sofa, so much the better. Lola will suck a blanket like a baby with a pacifier. She won’t hurt it (other than the occasional soggy spot).

Lola is a beautiful, vibrant dog who was dumped at the shelter by her family, who claimed landlord problems. She gets along with everyone: adults, children (she lived with children aged from 5 to 15), dogs and cats. She is very well behaved around people. She doesn’t jump unless she’s extremely excited, like when you come home. (She is 2 years old, after all.) She rarely barks, though she will occasionally croon—typically when you leave the house. She is house-trained and crate-trained. Lola takes treats ever so gingerly from your hand. She loves car rides and is a great travelling companion.

Lola’s foster home is full of small, senior dogs. Ever the optimist, Lola tries her hardest to get them to play by going into the classic puppy crouch, by swatting their tails as they walk by, by running circles around them. Lola would love a doggie companion to play with. If that is not available, a couple of rambunctious kids would be most welcome. Or an active owner. Or someone who would take her to the dog park.

Lola is a very curious dog. Open a closet, a cupboard, the refrigerator, and she’ll have her head in before you’ve even realized she was behind you. She doesn’t destroy or take; she just wants to look.

Lola would be an excellent family dog or companion to a single or couple. She is fun, beautiful, and well deserving of a better home than the one that dumped her at the shelter.
