My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sarah is an adorable 3-month old Austrian Shepherd mix puppy. She currently tips the scale at 20 pounds, but she’s going to be a big girl when she’s fully grown—we’re estimating 65 pounds.

True to her breed, Sarah is a very bright puppy. Throw something and she’ll bring it back—sticks, balls, dirty socks, anything. She sits on command and does “down” most of the time. She knows what “No” means. And when you talk, she tilts her head so you know she’s really listening to you. She is very eager to please.

Sarah loves EVERYONE—all people, kids, dogs and cats. When new people come to her foster home, she runs right up to greet them. She’s got small dogs, big dogs, and a bunch of cats living in her foster home and she gets along with them all (though occasionally, when her puppy spirits are high, she overwhelms them a bit with her size and energy). She’s particularly good with big dogs. She and her big dog buddy play, play, play. They run around the kitchen island, one jumps over the other, peek out from the corner. . .they play hide and seek, they play tug of war.

Sarah is well on her way to learning all her doggie manners. She comes when she’s called. She’s about 70% house-trained. She has been taught that after she potties outside, she needs to come in and sit in front of you waiting for a treat. She is crate-trained as well. She will run right into her crate all by herself—and then sit waiting for her treat, of course! She will cry when she needs to get out to go potty. Sometimes she sleeps with dogmom and sometimes she sleeps in the crate, and she’s happy either way.

Sarah loves car rides—whether in the crate or loose, running around the backseat. She jumps in and out all by herself.

When she’s done bouncing around, Sarah likes to lay down right next to you. She is super soft, furry, and very snuggly. She is always happy to accept a tummy rub. If you have been very, very good, she will give you a few kisses.

Sarah a fun-loving, happy and loving girl who would make a fantastic family dog.
