Owen was born in July 2014, one of five kittens cared for in a Dusty Paws Rescue foster home and adopted by Bay Area families. Unfortunately, circumstances changed for Owen's owners so he has been returned to Dusty Paws and is back in his original foster home. Owen is 4 1/2 now and 13 lbs.
Owen is a gentle soul who will thrive best in a calm household, possibly as an only cat or with a single cat companion if that cat is mellow and friendly. He is a little skittish about loud noises such as dogs barking. He may be shy at first in new surroundings, but he enjoys adult company whether playing with a favorite toy or receiving gentle pets and affection.
Owen prefers to sit next to his foster parents, but also likes having his foster dad hold him and his foster mom sleep on the couch with him. His foster parents think he will probably want to share bedtime with his forever family. They highly recommend he go to a home with people who understand and respect normal cat behavior.
Owen has a soft, shimmery grey coat that you can't help wanting to touch. People have remarked he looks like a Russian Blue, but you might also look up the characteristics of a Korat cat. Vet checked upon his return to Dusty Paws, Owen is in good health and is neutered and current on vaccinations. He is good in the home - litter box trained and respectful of furniture. You can meet Owen and learn more about him from his foster parents any Saturday at Pet Food Express in Castro Valley.
