Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The first step in adopting me is to visit www.goboxerrescue.com and fill out the application to adopt.
Hello, my name is Sadie Mae 4265 and I am a 2 yr old white female boxer (with a full tail that constantly wags!). I have been through a lot in my young life and my foster mom says sometimes I look like an old soul. I have had two litters of puppies, was heartworm positive, and left at a shelter (pregnant) because my owner could not afford to feed me. Shortly after GOBR saved me, I had nine puppies! I just finished my HW treatments, getting caught up on vaccines, dewormed, and due to be spayed in two weeks. I weighed in at 48 lbs but need to gain a few more.
I just moved to a new foster home two weeks ago and my foster mom says I have been very good. Haven’t had any accidents in the house or my crate and have been well behaved when loose. One day I wasn’t feeling well and pretty mellow, so my foster mom took that opportunity to introduce me to my fur brother and sister and we had no issues. I was happy to be with them, plus I got to sleep with my foster family at night instead of the crate. The cats don’t really interest me and if they do I am told to “leave it” so I do. The HW treatments still make me feel a little yucky, so I do sleep a lot, but I have plenty of playful moments! I started playing with toys, playing tug with my fur brother, or just get the zoomies in the back yard! We have been going for lots of walk and my foster mom says I walk well (except when I see another dog - need to work on that). I can’t go too far yet because the heartworms/treatment make me tired. The cooler the temperature outside, the better I feel on my walks. I can get a little crabby with my fur brother sometimes for a few seconds when we are playing with toys, but he just looks at me and wants to know what the issue is, then we start playing again.
I am super cute, super sweet, and love to cuddle!! I am a wiggle butt and bend in half, I whack myself in the face with my own tail! My foster mom has trimmed my nails, cleaned my ears, and wipes my eyes. I sit nicely for treats, getting my leash on, and when it is meal time. I was good at the vet office too. At meal time, I have learned I will get my own bowl of food so I sit and wait patiently. I will need a few follow up heartworm tests in the next year.
So if you are looking for a real sweetie and cuddle bug for a companion, I am ready for a fur ever home!!
Remember, the first step in adopting any dog from GO Boxer Rescue is to fill out the on line application that you will find on the website: http://www.goboxerrescue.org.
