My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, {pant, pant, pant} Brody, {pant, pant, pant} here. Phewwwwwwwwwww.

Are you or your canine companion looking for an exercise buddy? Someone to run around with, or take long walks or maybe someone to do all the exercising while you sit and watch? Then I, Brody Man, am the beag for you.

So some things about me to help you decide if I, Brody Man, am right for your family.

A fenced yard is pretty much a must for me. Being outside is my favorite thing. I love to run around the yard playing with my foster sister, so a buddy for me to play with and help me exercise would be great also. I drive foster daddy nuts. I like to take all my toys outside, then he has to pick them all up. I also enjoy just laying in the yard in the sunshine as my pictures show, and watching the world go by. We like to go to the dog park and WOW, all that room to run. I do two laps up and down the park before my foster sisters even get started.

I get along well with my foster sisters. My one foster sister and I love to play together. And I play very well. Sometimes I do the chasing, and sometimes I like to be chased. I am always up for a good game of tug of a war with a toy. I seem to prefer girls better, but why not, I am a great looking young boy. Hee, hee. But I have met several other dogs at the dog park and didn’t seem to have a problem with any of them.

I do have a very high prey drive. If I see a squirrel, rabbit, or ground hog go by I will let you know. It is not very pretty because foster daddy says I have one of the ugliest beagle barks he has ever heard. Whatever, let’s hear him bark. You also need to make sure your fence is very secure, or I will get out and the chase will be on. Because sometimes I get so worked up over critters, and with my energy, a house with young kids would not be best for me. You might want to keep an eye on me also, because I uh, well, maybe, will dig out in the yard. Just a little help with the landscaping I say.

When the day is over, and it is time to come in, I am very happy to snuggle up by you, I am a great cuddlier. Did I tell you I can hop right from the floor into your lap? Foster mommy calls me grasshopper when I do this. Do I look green? Foster daddy’s nickname for me is prancer, because he says I trot like a horse when I run, and he laughs at me. I tell him he is a horse’s… whoops, better not say it, this is a family site. I think my nickname should be Mr. Wonderful, because that is what I am.

Foster daddy says I am pretty smart. I know sit, down, and off. I am not allowed on the big bed. Of course I still try every night, but foster daddy just tells me off, and I get down and curl up on my pillow. You will have to be a confident leader to me. Being smart I will try to take advantage of you if you don’t. A couple of other quick things; I don’t do very well riding in the car. I pant and drool the whole way. I am crated during the day when everyone is at work, and the moment you come home and let me out, I run around barking happily for a couple of minutes because I am so excited to see you.

If you do come to see me at an adoption event, please know that I don’t “show” very well. I prefer to not have to stay in the same spot all the time. I like to let the non beagles know that I am around. I will bark at people going by the house sometimes, but at the dog park, I don’t bark at the people and other dogs on the other side of the fence. Unless my foster sister starts it, which she is good at.

Well I gotta go. My foster sister is running around the yard with a toy in her mouth, teasing me to come out and play.

So if you are interested in Brody Man, let the good people at BREW know.
