FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED:
Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries.

Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her.

Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people.

She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

Interested in adopting one of our rescue dogs? Here are the steps to a successful adoption:

1) Review the dog's picture and bio;

2) Fill out an Adoption Application

3) We will screen your application* and call you to tell you more about the dog,

4) A Meet and Greet will be set up. All members of your household (dogs and humans) must attend the meet and greet;

5) If you are approved for adoption, pay the adoption fee, sign the adoption contract and receive the dog's health records;

6) Love and adore your new dog!

Our organization - Forever Home Dog Rescue - values your privacy. Any and all application information is private and will not be shared outside of our organization with ANY other party. After a decision is made on a dog, all applicant and adopter personal information will be disposed of by shredding. We do not retain any application information past adoption in an effort to preserve the security and privacy of applicants. Vaccination, microchip and medical records of adopted and current dogs can be accessed under the dogs name and month of adoption.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.
