My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Willow

What is your name?
Hi, my name is Willow!

How old are you?
I’m about a year and a half old.

What do you look like?
I’m a tiny and tan pitbull. I have the cutest forehead wrinkles, beady black eyes, and a constant smile that melts hearts.

What do you like to eat?
ANYTHING! I eat two meals a day, have a peanut butter kong while my foster parents are at work, and treats when we work on tricks. I’m still learning the difference between the things I am allowed to chew on and not.

What kind of personality do you have?
Not only am I cute but I also have a great personality! I am young, energetic, and ready to explore the world. I will speak up when I want to be heard and am persistent for the things I want. I love affection and give it back to those who treat me kindly.

Describe your perfect day:
My perfect day starts off with an early morning play session in the backyard with my foster brother, Chance. After breakfast we take a nap together on the couch. I’d chew on some bones for a bit and go on a walk to explore the neighborhood. I love ending the day by cuddling with my foster parents.

What is your favorite toy?
Any toy stuffed with peanut butter! I love chewing on both hard and soft toys. I am an expert at finding squeakers so I have to be monitored with soft toys. I like to chew on sticks outside and I’ll chew on anything that looks appetizing inside!

Do you know any tricks?
I know sit and am working on down. I also love playing fetch. I am very smart and food motivated. I think I would learn “sit pretty” and “crawl” in no time if you provide me with treats! I am still in the process of learning to walk on a leash. The world is such an exciting place and I like to take it all in!

What scares you?
I am cautious in new environments but I usually warm up after some encouragement.

Do you have any doggie best friends?
Yes! I love my foster brother, Chance. He has taught me how to be brave. He puts up with me when I Chase him around the yard and steal his toys. I would love to have a companion in my future home who can continue to teach me all the best parts about being a dog.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would be on the couch snuggled between my foster parents while chewing on a toy.

How is your health?
I am in excellent health.

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I live with my two foster parents Alex and Bud and their dog, Chance. My closest companion is Chance. He has helped bring me out of my shell.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
I am still in full puppy mode so I stay in my crate while my foster parents are away.

Where do you sleep?
I sleep in my crate in the living room for now.

What do you love about your foster family?
I love that my foster family is patient with me while I learn some basic dog manners. I am still learning to go potty outside and to walk on a leash. They give me lots of encouragement and freedom to explore the world outside of a kennel.

What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought
into the welcoming arms of your foster parents? I came from the home of a hoarder. I was kept in a kennel most of my life. My back legs a little bowed from being in a kennel so much but they are already getting better from all the running I’ve done with at my foster home.

Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they grow up. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home.
