Meet adorable Lilly. Lilly is tan with white highlights with beautiful eyes. We love the way her ears stand up when she sees her favorite people.

Lilly was found as a stray in Weatherford TX (west of Ft Worth). Her owner never stepped forward to reclaim her. During her health analysis, it was found that Lilly was heart worm positive. PLEASE give your pets their monthly heart worm preventative! This disease is such a simple thing to prevent with one heartworm prevention pill per month. Because of the medical journey ahead, no one would adopt her. Through no fault of her own, Lilly found herself on the “code red” list. The Weatherford Animal Shelter reached out to CRT on literally her last day. They told us how sweet she was and begged us to bring her in to our program. We couldn’t resist her face, and traveled that day to Weatherford to pick her up. We are so happy we did — she is an adorable dog! CRT rescued Lilly and began heartworm protocol on her immediately. Lilly did extremely well throughout the entire process and we are excited to report that as of April, she is now testing HW negative, is healthy and is ready to go to a forever family!

Lilly is currently an "only dog" in her foster home. She actually likes this set up as she enjoys attention and wants to be the center of your world. Lilly does enjoy going outside. She loves laying in the sun, and exploring various parts of the yard. Lilly also loves toys. Her favorites are the soft, crinkly kind. She has so much fun with them that she will play with multiple toys at once. She actually will leave toys laying in various rooms so that one is always handy!

More than anything, Lilly loves her human family. She would make a great companion dog. She wants to be the center of your world. She follows you everywhere in the house to make sure she is part of the action. She is very careful and does not get in the way. She loves to get up on the couch and cuddle next to you for TV time. Lilly loves belly rubs and will give you kisses to show her appreciation. She is a huge snuggle bug. Lilly's favorite person in the home is her 80+ year old Grandma that is living with the fanmily. Lilly wants to constantly be with her. She would make a great companion dog.

Lilly is about 2 years old. She weighs about 11 pounds, but the vet believes her ideal weight is about 7 - 8 pounds. So we have her on a healthy weight loss food in order to help her reduce to a more girly figure. We hope her forever family will help keep her on this journey. Lilly would do fine as an only dog as she loves to be the favorite! LOL. She gets very attached to her humans and we think she would bask in 100% of your love! Lilly does bark when people come near her home (who needs a good watch dog?) so we think she would do much better in a home versus an apartment setting. Because of her strong personality, we believe she would do best in an all adult home where she could fit in nicely and shower her parents with love.

Lilly is smart. She is potty trained. She isn’t fond of her crate and would prefer sleeping in bed with her humans. Lilly loves going on daily walks. She definitely needs someone who is willing to walk her one to two times per day.

Lilly is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Lilly is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, is HW negative and she is on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?
