NAME: Jilly

AGE: About 5 months
WEIGHT: About 8 Pounds
DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small dogs, Unsure with cats
CHILDREN: Will be great with children
OTHER: Chihuahua / Pomeranian mix puppy

Introducing Jilly. Jilly is an adorable Chihuahua / Pomeranian mix puppy. She is lively, fun and loving!

In February, we received an email asking if we would be willing to accept three female puppies into our program. They had been born into a home and the family was unable to care for them. We were happy to help. Jilly was one of these puppies. The family told us that the Mom was a white Pomeranian and the Dad was a chocolate Chihuahua, both weighing about 7 pounds. We can definitely see the mix of the two in this little girl. She is absolutely adorable and is looking for her forever home.

Jilly gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home. Jilly loves to run, play and tumble with them. She definitely has puppy energy! Jilly loves going outside to run and play in the yard. She enjoys exploring, finding sticks and chasing squirrels. And she loves playing with toys. Her favorites are the squeeky ones. She carries her toys everywhere. It makes us smile when we realize how much she loves her toys. This girl enjoys life, and will bring sunshine to you along the way. She also loves treats. She has the cutest habit - when you give her a treat she prances around the house showing everyone her treat before she settles down to eat it!

When Jilly is done playing, she looks for a lap to crawl up on. Jilly is very loving and enjoys cuddling with you. Her favorite thing to do is crawl up on your shoulders (when you are sitting watching TV), wrap herself around your neck, and snuggle against you! She also loves to get in your lap, watch TV and get belly rubs. And she enjoys snuggling under the covers with you for an afternoon nap.

Jilly is one of the more loving dogs we have had in our foster program. She is the sweetest little girl. She can be a bit shy when she meets you but as soon as she knows she is safe, she becomes your BFF (and a big snuggle friend!).

Jilly is about 5 months old and weighs about 8 pounds. She would love to have another dog to grow up with and play with. She would probably be fine as an only dog as long as her family had lots of time with her and could give her a great deal of attention! She is the perfect size for a family dog. Jilly's favorite family member is her 10 year old human sister. She would love to have human children as part of her forever family. She would probably be the hit of the neighborhood as friends stopped by to visit! Jilly is not a big barker unless someone gets close to the house and then she will alert her family (we love "watch dogs")

Jilly is very smart. Jilly is completely potty trained. She goes potty outside and in extreme weather circumstances will go on the pee pee pads. She has never had an accident in her foster home! Jilly does not like crates. She sleeps in her doggie bed at night and likes to crawl up in bed with her family if you will let her. Now that the weather is turning warm, we will begin to take her for walks. We think she will really like walks as she is very active. Stay tuned for updates on leash training!

Jilly is being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area. If she sounds like the new best friend you've been looking for, please fill out an application! Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Note that Jilly will have her last set of puppy shots and be spayed in late-April. She will be ready to go to her forever family at that point. But we are taking early applications for her. If you are interested in her, please fill out an application ASAP and we will start the process.

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $300 adoption donation is required. As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
