Pretty 85 lb tri-color girl wants a home of her own
Kia is an adult female weighing in at about 100 lbs. Very friendly to people she trusts and a good girl on a leash. She likes to play ball Akita style meaning she will get the ball once and then it belongs to her! She is learning basic commands and can sit like a pro, especially if a tasty treat is involved!! She is not reactive to other polite dogs while on leash but she will tell rude dogs to back off!! Kia is a sassy Akita girl that knows her worth!! She does not want other animals invading her space, therefore accordingly, she would do best as the only pet in the home. She has never lived with children and because their behavior can be unpredictable, she would do better in a home with teens and up who will be respectful of her boundaries. Kia is more aloof and independent versus velcro and constantly needing attention. But this girl can lay the cuteness on thick when she knows you are her people!!!

We have an adoption agreement and ask that you keep us informed of the dog's whereabouts if you move or relocate and also that you maintain updated contact information with our organization.
We ask for a tax deductible donation of between $250 - $500 to help us pay vet bills, rescue fees, boarding & transporting expenses.

We specialize in rescuing Akitas , both purebred and mixes and from time to time other large breed dogs from high kill shelters, provide medical assistance if needed, assess them and find homes. We are truly the last resort for many dog that would otherwise be put to sleep. This is a act of kindness for those in most need & out of love for the dogs.
We are an all volunteer organization that survives on donations.
