My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet little Nellie... a Shih Tzu-Poodle blend who is searching for her forever home. Nellie has had a bit of an unsettled past. She lost her home once due to the arrival of a new baby who took all her owners’ time – and then Nellie went to a very caring family, but they worked long hours and couldn’t spend much time with her. Wanting to do the right thing for Nellie, they turned her over to rescue. Nellie is now more than ready to find her 'forever home' with a loving family who will spend the one-on-one time with her that she so loves and deserves!

Nellie was born on March 24, 2017 and weighs 16 lbs. She’s well house-trained and crate-trained and received a squeaky-clean bill of health from the vet. She apparently loves children and other dogs – and is good with cats too. Nellie’s a quiet girl and very sweet, wanting only a lap to sit on and a chance to walk and explore – and to play!

We’re searching for a family for Nellie who has another small, playful dog – a family who will give her all the time and attention and love she craves! A fenced yard is also a 'must'... giving her the opportunity to run and play safely.

Please consider the care and grooming costs in breeds that require regular grooming. If this does not fit into your budget or lifestyle, a short-haired breed will be a better choice.

Nellie is current on her Rabies, DHP/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines. She is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for Heartworms, and is on heartworm prevention.

Nellie's adoption fee is $300.00.

Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a 3-week trial period with all our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adoptive family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have the perfect “forever” home!

If you are interested in Nellie and think she may be your ideal canine companion, please visit our website at foreverhomek9rescue.org for information on our adoption process and to download an application, or you may e-mail us at foreverhomeK9rescue@yahoo.com for additional information, or to request an application.

A big thanks to K9 Cabins (http://www.k9cabins.com) for treating Nellie to a spa day and photo shoot!
