Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com

***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!***

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to come look at a dog.
We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Renton, WA.

Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to cover medical bills. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase QuickPay, PayPal, or cash.

Max Welsh Terrier purebred 4 years old, 25lbs.

The oh so common sad story of a wonderful little fellow and this one is of Max the Welsh Terrier who was going to lose his life. We got a call from our vets who let us know that they received a call from an owners assistant who wanted to put their dog to sleep because he had been mouthy with their son while putting Max’s collar on him & wanted him to be euthanized. Our wonderful vets of course did not want that to happen & they reached out to us. We worked together to help this happy go lucky full of curiosity fella.

Max is roughly 4 years old, 25lbs, neutered, chipped, up to date on his shots, walks beautifully on a leash, apparently had not been around other dogs before except going to the vets but he did so great with other dogs when we tested him, he was so enthralled to see what puppies were & was just curious. We took him to our groomer as we don’t know if he was ever groomed before as he smelled of urine & needed a bath mighty bad. He did well at the groomer considering it might of been his very first time of been groomed & we have had him groomed many times since & Max has just been groomed again.

We have also sent Max to our wonderful trainer who worked with Max for several months & Max was with countless breeds of dogs & is a very well rounded loving dog who is currently in a foster home with other dogs & goes on walks twice a day with his foster brother a little poodle & has the time of his life. Max is full of life, love & energy & is such a lovely boy who just wants to be loved & enjoys playing with his toys so he will need toys in his new home. Max will need a home with a backyard with a fully fenced high fence only & someone who is willing to walk him everyday even twice a day. It’s mandatory for Max to go to a forever home with another dog or dogs present in the home.

Max is a very intelligent little fellow. We would like for Max to go to a home where he can go on walks everyday & be cherished & loved as he should be. He loves the attention of people & enjoys being touched every where & to be cuddled & given love by his foster mum. Max will need work on potty training like all of his rescue friends. We would also like for him to go to a forever home who is experienced with his breed & we have spent far more on Max with medical, training, transport etc that covers the cost of his adoption fee.

Max has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children but Max has been around a very respectable teenager who is responsible around dogs but we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children.

We do not know for sure what breed Max is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Max & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview, and a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Max that meet all the requirements. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto to dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.

Please do not say you will take a dog to training if you will not. Please do not email us asking is Max potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.

We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying & tick the yes box.

Max has an adoption fee of $795 & is ready for her forever family who meet all the requirements for him.
