Hello all, Leela here. I am what you might refer to as a "pygmy pit." I am just a perfectly formed pittie but only 40 pounds; much more lap sized than my full-sized cousins.

The end of 2018 was very rough for me. I was taken away from one of my litters of puppies and dumped. When Every Dog Matters rescued me from the shelter I had: a skull fracture, a fractured radius, a bad case of pyoderma which caused me to lose most of the fur on my body, a fang that was broken to the gum, and I had a belly full of worms. I was afraid of everyone and everything. It took me a while to realize I could trust people, but I've learned that I can depend on a meal and a kind hand and that not all people are bad.

I'm all healed up from everything and I'm ready to find my home. I like other dogs and hope I'll have one in my new home, but I don't what a cat is so I don't know if I like them. I have a lot of energy, but can also be fine snuggling on the couch. I like having a crate where I can go when I'm scared. I will hoard all of my toys in the crate if you let me. I have to warn you, I love your socks and you might find those in my crate, too.
