This cutie surely deserves a second chance. He was found living in a hoarding situation in a small trailer with 25+ other small dogs. Thumper, as he is affectionately now named, is very shy when you first meet him. But that is not surprising when you consider how scary it must have been for him living in such a crowded condition. He is approximately a year old.
He is a little guy, too, weighing around 9 pounds. Thumper is a dachshund mix with a black and tan short coat. He has those big dark brown eyes that look right at you and seem to say, “Would you like to take me home?” He hasn’t had any opportunities to really explore and enjoy the outside world. Just think how much he will love to walk and sniff! To run and play! His foster mom finds him to be “very sweet.” He gets along fine with the other dogs in her household.
So, Thumper just needs someone to give him a new beginning, filled with love and attention. He will need to learn house and social skills because no one in his past dealt with that. He is young, so that should help him in his learning and adapting to a new home. It will take patience and the right guidance but he will prove his worth as he gains confidence in himself.
