Hi, my name is Sammy, probably short for Samantha. If I seem to have an accent when I bark it is because I was born in St. Croix. One of the North Carolina volunteers saw me while she was vacationing there and couldn’t resist bringing me back to North Carolina to be adopted. I am well worth it! I am very sweet, playful, happy, and just love everyone I meet.
I am approximately 10 weeks old, weighing only about 10 pounds. But I will continue growing. I will be in the medium size range. It looks like they think I am part terrier and just maybe part shepherd. My short coat is mostly brown but I have a black muzzle that accents my adorable dark brown eyes and floppy ears. If you look closely, you see wisps of black on my tail and some white on chest. Just look at my puppy feet. What size do you think they will be when I am full grown?
As you know I am friendly and get along with kids and other dogs, the more the merrier. I just love to have opportunities to play. I have a puppy’s energy, but I am not hyper. Lots of play, then rest, and then play again. I am full of curiosity and wonderment, too. Life is good.
I am crate trained but not house and leash trained. I think you can assume that is not unusual at my age. I sure am looking forward to living in a forever home where I can grow and learn as part of the family. I will need someone willing to work with me on my social and basic training skills, by giving me the right guidance. It will take time, energy, and patience.
