Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Vera is a feisty Terrier mix who is about 1 year old and weighs 12 pounds. She is timid when first meeting someone but warms up quickly. Vera is young, playful, and full of energy. She loves to play with toys and gets all the toys out of the toy box every day; however, what she really likes is to cuddle up with her human. Vera gets along well with other dogs, but, might do best as the only dog because she loves getting all the attention and can be quite bossy with other dogs. She is very food-motivated, learns quickly, and is the star in her basic obedience class! Vera is not crazy about her crate and can be very vocal when confined. Vera needs a calm home with someone who is patient and understands the Terrier breeds. Please note that we do not recommend Vera to families with children under 8. We also feel that Vera would do best in a home with a fenced yard because she will not potty on a leash.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
