Meet Bam Bam!! Bam Bam was saved from a high kill shelter on the day he was going to be euthanized because he was diagnosed heartworm positive! He is the sweetest, most affectionate boy that is full of kisses and love to give an active family!
Bam Bam has currently been in a quiet foster home as he needed to recover from his heartworm treatment but was given the release this week to slowly return to normal activity! Bam Bam had a mild case of heartworm and since it was treated early in his life, he can now live a normal healthy life! He is a young boy that is higher energy and will require daily exercise, both physical and mental.
Bam Bam was originally a stray when brought into a shelter so the only information is gathered by spending time with him. He is 100% house/crate trained, can be a picky eater and is very gentle at taking food from you. His favorite is chewing on bully sticks and long daily walks! Bam Bam benefits from wearing a no pull harness while on his walks as this helps with his pulling when investigating smells. He enjoys playing with a variety of toys and will entertain himself, in fact we are not sure he played with toys in the past as it took some coaxing to get him to play. He loves rope toys and playing tug of war, fetch with a variety of different balls, and loves squeaking squeaky toys.
Bam Bam listens well and knows some basic manners but would benefit from a basic obedience class and someone that is willing to take him out into the world to catch up on his socialization. Bam Bam also is learning that jumping on people does not get their attention and that mouthing during playtime stops the game.....He LOVES to go for car rides and sniff out the cracked windows in the back seat.
Bam Bam is a people dog...he loves all humans that he meets and anyone that will show him attention as we do not think he received much in a his short life. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, dog friendly with proper introductions, kid friendly but children older than 10 please due to his higher energy. He is approximately 1 1/2 to 2 years old and a Labrador Retriever Mix.
