My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LITTLR SISTER is on a LONG JOURNEY heading toward her permanent home.

We don’t know her history. We know a man took her and her sister as kittens.

He then moved in with his uncle. After several months he moved out WITHOUT his cats.

Uncle knew nothing about cats. He started looking for someone to take them.

He called Fortunate Feline who didn’t have room. He was given the no. to Madison Heights Shelter.

They would not take the cats without $80 per cat. Uncle is very low income.

FFAL was eventually ready to take them. On the day for their spay Little Sister got out side.

Big Sister got spayed and vaccinated and came to a foster home.

Little Sister was scared of strangers so it was difficult for someone to come into her home to get her.

Finally, after 2 months, a plan was set up. The caregiver was to get her into a carrier the night before so someone could come to get her to the spay clinic the next day. It worked!

Sounded like we had a skittish cat on our hands. SO WRONG!

She came to her foster home on a Wed. scared at first. But within a few hours, instead of the usual week, she was ready to venture out of the cage.

She was let out the next morning. She went about exploring her foster home without a hiss or a growl at any of the other foster cats.

She loves to be stroked and lets you know by purring. She is an amazing cat!

If you think you could be the person to help LITTLE SISTER complete her journey to getting a permanent home, call Kay: 313-891-2591.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS:

1. We DO NOT have an online application

2. We talk with interested parties VIA PHONE. Call between 9 am and 8 pm.

13983 E. 9 mi (3 blocks east of Schoenherr) Sat.between noon & 3pm

4. When a person meets a cat at Greenwood and wants to adopt him/her, a paper application is filled out, then the contract is studied,

if found agreeable, the applicant signs, makes an adoption donation, takes the cat home. (adopter provides a cat carrier)

5. DIRECTIONS are given for introducing the cat to his/her new home.

6. In about 8 to 14 days a call is made to hear about the steps that were taken to introduce the cat to his/her new home and find out how the cat has adjusted.

The adopter is asked to send pics of their adopted cat.
