My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Karli was a stray who ended up in a Houston, Texas kill shelter. The shelter sent out a plea to rescues for help since it appeared she had an issue not being able to walk with her back legs and she needed x-rays at a private vet. We tagged her for rescue and took her in for x-rays. No broken bones! There's no telling what may have happened to her while she was stray. She might have been kicked or hit by a car. We just don't know. We started her on a course of steroids to help with any inflammation and just a few days later, she started to walk again. She is almost back to walking and running normally now. She is 14 pounds and around 5 years old. She is an adorable little Shih Tzu mix and she is VERY friendly and sweet. She enjoys hanging out with her people and getting held, petted and cuddled. She is great with other dogs and is great with dog-friendly cats. She would do best in a quieter home with less activity. She is a couch potato. She is not a dog that will enjoy going on long walks, hikes or playing fetch. Karli's adoption fee is $650 (that includes ground transport from Houston, TX to the Chicago, IL area). She has been fully vetted, spayed and microchipped so she is ready to find her new family! **Karli is currently in her foster home in Houston, Texas.
