My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tinkerbell is the ultimate girly dog—8 pounds of pure Chihuahua sweetness. She is very demure and shy around people she doesn’t know, but once she’s warmed up to you, she’s very affectionate. Hint to make her warm up more quickly: offer her bits of people food. No matter how shy she’s feeling, that brings her right out of her shell every time!

Do you have a lap? If so, Tinkerbell would like to sit in it. She’s very contented to perch herself and snag a tummy rub or maybe get a behind-the-ear scritch. If you are very, very good, you might event snag a kiss from time to time.

In the backyard, she’s one of a trio of our foster dogs we call The Zoomies because they go zoom, zoom all around the yard, chasing each other this way and that in a perfect tableau of doggie joy. She loves to rassle with other dogs. Inside the house, she loves to play with chew toys, tossing them in the air and chasing them around.

Tinkerbell lives in a foster home with 5 dogs and 11 cats. She loves the dogs and tolerates the cats, though she’s had to learn the hard way that she is not the boss of the cats. Though she’s young, she’s got her manners down. She is puppy pad trained and crate trained. She’s not much of a barker, and she doesn’t chew, so she’s totally non-destructive. She is very fond of human food treats, but is not an obnoxious beggar.

Tinkerbell would do equally well in a house or apartment. A calmer home would be better as she is easily spooked by loud noises. She would be happy to go on walks or go to the dog park, and equally happy to sit in your lap and watch TV with you. She is a high-love, low-maintenance dog who deserves a good home.
