My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beautiful, friendly collie needs a new home due to the tragic loss of his Human

Boomer (Sister Darcy has been adopted)

Boomer is six years old, healthy and very people-friendly. He walks well on a leash and will sit, lie down and shake a paw when asked. He is house-trained and enjoys riding in the car. Boomer is a big love-sponge, who thinks he’s a lap dog. His long collie nose goes on forever and is just right for planting lots of kisses. When you meet Boomer, you are guaranteed to fall immediately in love.

For several months we tried to adopt Darcy and Boomer together, because they are littermates and grew up together. But the right home wanting both dogs just didn’t come along. After over four months in foster care, we recently tried them out in different homes and they did just fine! Darcy has been adopted, but Boomer is still looking for his forever home. This darling Collie adores people and would make a wonderful pet for someone who is home most of the day, wanting a companion. Because he is so large, small children are not advised and we now know he doesn’t do well with cats. Depending on the dog, he might be okay with another dog – preferably female. Updated 10.27.2009

If you would like to give him a forever home (in Northern California), please fill out an application and e-mail it to: andrea@calcollierescue.org or call Andrea at (560) 851-9227.
