Meet Lilo!
Lilo is a SMALL breed puppy who was in a foster home in Puerto Rico with 3 children until he was sent to Hearts and Tails shelter here in Weare, NH. He is happy, active, sociable and playful boy that gets along with children and all types of dogs. However, as all recently rescued dogs he needs to be trained and to have a routine. He is a very sociable and sweet boy that loves to be around people and will be good in a home with other dogs and/or children. He is very playful and active so a young couple or an active family with time to walk and exercise him will be ideal. Lilo is the typical sato with a big heart and lots of love to give. He is a real sweetheart and a very special dog.
Lilo deserves a home more than anyone because his life has been very rough. Lilo was found in the town of Jayuya, a town in the middle of the mountains of Puerto Rico about 3 hours from San Juan, after his owners abandoned him in a solitary area. Lilo is one of the more than 60 dogs that has been found in Jayuya during the last month.
Lilo was born with a barely noticeable deformity in his back paw that does not impact his walking or running. Our Vet examined him and determined that it is very minor, and no surgery is needed. However, in winter he might need boots and, in some occasion, if the terrain is rough. He is a special needs dog that will steel your heart!
