Lovely Lulu is a 4 year old border collie x Siberian husky cross. This is a high energy girl that only weighs 37 pounds and has ice blue eyes. Other words that describe Lulu are intense and smart!
Lulu is needing a new home because, like many herding breeds, she nips at children when they are running or just being kids. So no children for this girl.
Lulu is housetrained and crate trained. She will load up into her crate in the car and rides well. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. This is a dog that is very devoted to her people.
This dog had an intensive board and train with a Boise trainer in February, 2019. She knows her basic obedience and loves to work for treats. She will come with a list of the commands she knows and information to help her new family continue this training. **Please Note: Lulu will need a family that is going to reinforce her obedience training.**
Here is what Lulu's previous owner says about Lulu and other dogs: "Lu has had some rough interactions with other dogs in the past. Her high energy has caused a few to go after her when she was younger. Consequently she gets nervous. She very much wants to play with other dogs though and shows a great interest in them." Therefore, Lulu is not a candidate for the dog park. She does not like other dogs in her face and will let them know.
Lulu is currently living with several other dogs in her foster home and can be a little "grumbly" with them. We think she would do best as an only dog or maybe with one other dog in the home. She does initiate play with the other dogs in her foster home, and has her favorite foster brother that she likes to play with and sleep with. :) We try to give her some space when first greeting other canines.
Lulu has not lived with cats before and we were told she will chase if they run.
Even though Lulu likes children, their energy ramps her up so we are seeking a home with no young children. She will also need daily exercise. This can be in many forms. If you apply to adopt Lulu, please be prepared to tell us how you provide for her exercise needs.
