Meet Richie and Ruthie. These bonded siblings have been together since birth and have stuck together through thick and thin.
Unfortunately their life didn't start out so easily. They were found outside as kittens and dropped off somewhere that they were unwanted.
They were loosing hair from stress, always hiding, and constantly being attacked by the other cats in the home. Unfortunately the other cats in the home were FIV+ and passed this virus onto both Ruthie and Richie.
Cats living with FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) have a suppressed immune system but other than that live a completely normal life. It is not contagious to other animals or people and is only contagious to other cats through deep bite wounds.
After taking Richie and Ruthie into our care and gaining their trust it is clear that these sweet ginger cats just needed a little love and TLC. All of their fur has completely grown back and they are both happy and healthy and so so ready for their forever home.
Ruthie and Richie are both fixed and combo tested (FIV+ Felv-). They are not good with other cats because they feel the need to defend themselves after being attacked at their old home however they have done great with our small dog and respectful children.
They can be a bit shy at first but once they trust you good luck getting them to leave you alone. All they want is to be pet and loved on. Especially Richie who will not take no for an answer. He could be loved on all day long and it still wouldn't be enough! Do you have room in your heart for these two love bugs?
Richie and Ruthie are around 2 years old and have been together their whole life. They are just like typical siblings. They wrestle, play, cuddle, groom each other, and protect each other.
They are affectionate, sweet, very playful, talkative, and deserve a safe home where they will get all the pets and be treated like family. Could that be with you?
If you are interested in adoption please reach out the rescue or you can email their foster directly at rekuhrescues@gmail.com

Ruthie, a Ortonville American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Ortonville, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Ortonville.
Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ortonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ortonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ortonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
